GLANDORE

Glandore (Cuan Dor) is the hidden suprise of the area, for here resting in almost perfect seclusion are stockbroker homes with private grounds and beautiful views over the sea. You are more likely to meet a Rolls Royce here than in almost any other part of the county.

It stretches out along a northern shore line with houses facing south over the bay, the road slowly descending to the little harbour with only a hotel and a few houses to call the centre, and just to endorse the Garden of Eden theme, there are two islands at the mouth of Glandore Harbour, Adam and Eve.

Further on one meets a narrow single lane bridge to take you across to the business end of the bay, around a headland is Union Hall (Breantra). (Straight on takes you to the interesting little town of Leap). This is a fishing village and the streets away from the harbour have a plethora of seafood restaurants along with pubs all with sea-sounding names.
